Ready for Spring!

Posted on March 18, 2013 with 0 comments
Yesterday, I had to bundle up in a sweater and hooded winter parka.  Although spring is right around the corner according to the calendar, it just doesn't feel like it yet.  In my house, I still have the heat blasting full force.  Now, don't get me wrong.  I like the winter.  It is just that I have had enough of it now and am ready for some warm weater and some tulips and daffodils.  I am especially looking forward to the annual event entitled Sakura Matsuri, that takes place at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.  At this special two day event, cherry blossoms are in full bloom and all their glory, plus there are other activities that celebrate Japanese culture.  I am looking forward to taking part.

Cafe Wha?

Last night, my husband and I went to Cafe Wha? for the very first time.  It is located at 115 MacDougal, in the heart of Greenwich Village.  We were there to support my friend and fellow artist Jem Warren, who was celebrating the premiere of his new music video, entitled "Heart Knows How," the title track to his new album.  It is an imaginative, unique video and it was followed by an excellent live performance by Jem and his band.  We had a wonderful time.  The music was excellent and the food and atmosphere at Cafe Wha? were great.  For more information about Jem's music, look him up online.  He is Jem Warren Music on Facebook.  He also has his own website,

New Year, Endless Possibilities!

Happy New Year!  I am so excited to be starting 2013.  A new year brings with it endless possibilities.  I can do something I have never done before, but always wanted to, such as go to the Opera with my husband.  I can tackle a task I have been putting off, such as organizing the hall closet.  I can make a dream come true, such as perform at Birdland with my full band (performed there before but not with my band).  It is a whole new year.  Anything is possible!

George Zimmerman's Credibility

George Zimmerman, the man who killed an unarmed teen, Trayvon Martin, claiming self defense, has lied about his finances and also lied about his passport.  So the question is, what else has he lied about?

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was found unconstitutional today.  I am so pleased.  Any consenting adult who wants to get married should be able to regardless of sexual orientation.
